Westminster Bridge over the Thames in London is another span that has attracted these “love locks” symbolizing the everlasting love of the couple. Tourists have locked a number of padlocks to the sides of the bridge, throwing the keys into the Thames, similar to other landmarks in Paris and elsewhere.
There was something extremely gritty about this photo, contrasted with the bright and optimistic sentiment behind the locks’ symbolism. This needed to be played up and exaggerated in the output. I used a number of filters on this image, working until it reflected the mood I was looking for… dark yet hopeful underneath the chaos …
