I now live in the Jim Thorpe area, and honestly it is a great small town to live in. Yes, it can get touristy, but the good always has to come with the bad. Besides, if you done have something simple to complain about, like parking, then you are bound to go looking for something 🙂
This shot of the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway station in downtown Jim Thorpe was taken last May, before the railway and the town got into a bit of a verbal war over money. The Train stopped running in November, and it is still up in the air if it will ever run through Jim Thorpe again. I am glad I got this and other pictures before all the political nonsense started!
I do hope they can settle their differences and get this going again, but if not I have many fond memories and photos.
