Fall from Grace

Sometimes you stumble on a piece of art that blows your mind, no visual pun intended. This sculpture, Por qué me echaron del Cielo, (Why have they cast me from heaven?) by Julio Nieto was outside the Cathedral of Barcelona when I visited in 2015 and there was an immediate pull to the piece.

The fallen angel, head in hands, apples literally on his mind, appears to regret his actions, or at least lament his fall from grace. Perhaps not only did Milton give the devil all the good lines, but Nieto an amazing sculpture as well? Fall from Grace indeed.

The gallery image was printed on Polar Gloss Metallic paper and is $125 at the event.
