Love More Now! Jim Thorpe Street Graffiti

Love More Now! Another of my street photos of an empty Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania during the COVID-19 “lockdown”. The streets of the town were completely empty with nothing going on except a stray car on State Route 209 or Broadway. It was a rare beautiful day for March. It was warm, sunny a wonderful spring day, eerily devoid of all people.

Some chalk graffiti caught my eye. Love More Now! A simple statement that is so necessary and true during this crisis.

This is a trying time for all. Everyone is worried, politicizing the crisis, drawing lines in the sand. These simple lines in chalk are stronger than any that try to divide. The coming months, to be clear, will be difficult. Each of us will know someone impacted by this pandemic, either medically, financially or perhaps mental stresses of isolation. We need to stop the selfish hoarding, attacking each other or finger pointing. There will be plenty of time for blame later. Right now its simple Love More Now!

Let us all take a deep breath, count our blessings, take stock of our issues, and look around to see it is not just you. It’s all of us. We will either sink or swim together … regardless of what the people in the State Houses, White House or Congress do or do not do. We need to look out for each other and Love More Now. Leave the blame games for another time.

Get off Facebook and Do Something

How can you help? Look around you, is there an elderly neighbor that shouldn’t go out to the store, call and offer to help. Blood banks are running dangerously low, if you can, donate blood. Your friend or neighbor are working in healthcare, offer to watch their kids, walk their dogs, anything to help take some pressure off them. Simply say thanks. Most importantly stay at an appropriate distance and flatten the fucking curve.

Turning this around will be a marathon, not a sprint. We will ALL likely need some help before this is over, so help while you can… Love More NOW!
