Happy Easter and La Sagrada Familia

La Sagrada Familia – Happy Easter

Happy Easter Weekend everyone. Here is a photo of La Sagrada Familia (the Church of the Holy Family) taken on my last trip to Barcelona. I’ve been going through a bunch of photos taken for a project of prints I am working on and this caught my eye and begged to be processed.

As usual, I did the post processing in Lightroom, AuroraHDR and On1 Photo, with some other tweaks here and there in a couple other apps.

La Sagrada Familia is an ongoing (never-ending?) construction project in Barcelona started by Antoni Gaudi in 1882, and still going based on his Art Nouveau designs. While the Cathedral started construction in the late 1800s, it was not consecrated until 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI. The plan is to have it completed in 2026 for the centennial of Gaudi’s death – but who knows 🙂

I absolutely love this city, and its artwork – from the Gothic Cathedral of Barcelona to the Gaudi inspired Sagrada, parks and public art all over the city. I can’t wait to return later this year, and if my wife had anything to do with it, live there half the year — not the summers – they are insanely hot 😉
